MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF ABENBURY COMMUNITY COUNCIL HELD ON 14th April 2014 AT ABENBURY COMMUNITY CENTRE

Minutes of the Meeting held on 10th March 2014 were confirmed and signed as a correct record.
90 MATTERS ARISING
The Clerk sought confirmation of names for the four places offered for the visit to Dovegate. It was noted that the Vice Chair and Mel Roberts were unavailable and that Cllr Arthur Reeves as reserve would attend with Cllr Iris Squire. The Clerk said that he had received an update from the MoJ as promised (copy circulated) and that he had received an early copy of the Wrexham CBC newsletter which would be circulated widely over the next couple of weeks. The copy would be placed on the Noticeboard.
The Chair gave a report on the debate on the Prison held by the institute Of Welsh Affairs.
91 POLICING MATTERS
PCSO Dobby was congratulated on becoming a father. He also announced that as he was starting his PC training at the end of the month that he would not be attending future meetings. Members wished him well in his new role.
PCSO Dobby then presented the crime report for the Holt ward. These included 6 Burglaries, 6 Burglaries other than a dwelling, 2 Theft from vehicles, 9 cases of Theft and Handling, 1 unauthorised taking of a motor vehicle, 4 other Criminal offences and 2 cases of anti social behaviour. These figures represented a significant increase in cases and Members expressed their concerns. PCSO Dobby indicated that there had been a general increase across the whole of the Wrexham area. He confirmed that Burglaries continued to be the priority. It was agreed that the Clerk should write to enquire what was happening to the PCSO supposedly dedicated to the Industrial Estate.
Members noted the resignation of Graham Marsh and asked the Clerk to write to thank him for his contribution to the Council. The Clerk reported on the procedure and that the appropriate notices would need to be put up on the Notice Boards.

95 CORRESPONDENCE AND CLERK’S REPORT
The Clerk gave a summary of the items of correspondence received, which included:-
96 WEBSITE UPDATE
The Clerk provided an update report and a screen shot of the current version. There was still some work to do but it was now up and running.
The Chair raised the issue of whether planning permission was needed by Owens for the parking etc of over 50 lorries at a site on Clywedog Road. Cllr Morris said he would make enquiries.
