MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF ABENBURY COMMUNITY COUNCIL HELD ON 12th JUNE 2017 AT THE ATRIUM, REDWITHER.

PRESENT: Councillors R Squire, I Squire and A Reeves

APOLOGIES: Councillor P Done, S Clutton, G Williams, G Lowdon, R Jones, Michael Morris (Wrexham CBC)

ALSO PRESENT: Clerk – W S Nott, PCSO A Heron, Lee Robinson (Wrexham CBC)

The Chair welcomed Lee Robinson to the meeting. Lee gave Nick Dann of HMP Berwyn apologies. He gave an update on progress, as he understood it at the Prison. Members discussed various issues and confirmed that the problem of parking had reduced considerably. Lee confirmed that, nevertheless, the Prison was considering putting in an application for the overflow carpark. The outstanding Planning issues were being discussed at the Planning Committee that evening. Mention was made of the Community Centre site ownership.

It was agreed that it would be helpful for a smaller group discussion on future relations between the Community and the Prison. Lee would facilitate this.

15 MINUTES

Minutes of the meeting held on the 15th May were confirmed and signed as a correct record.

16 MATTERS ARISING

The Chair said that he had been informed by the Residents Association that they had agreed to make a donation of £920 and on this basis the Council AGREED to support the play scheme from July to October.

17 COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP

The Clerk indicated that he had had no interest for the two vacancies..

18 POLICING MATTERS

PCSO Alison Heron presented the update report for May for the Holt ward.

During the month there had been 9 crimes and 7 cases of ASB. There had been 2 burglaries, 4 burglary other than dwelling, 1 theft from a motor vehicle, 1 Theft, 1 case of criminal damage and 1 drugs case.

Of the 7 ASB cases 4 related to Pentre Maelor which the PCSO had now dealt with.

19 FINANCIAL MATTERS, AUDIT AND ACCOUNTS

PAYMENTS

The following payment was authorised

Wrexham CBC – Hire of Atrium – £60.00

Wrexham CBC – Employers Costs – £637.80

Wrexham CBC – Code of Conduct printing – £7.20

COMPACC – Internal Audit – £99.00

Information Commissioner – £35.00

BANK BALANCES

Bank balances were as follows- Current Account – £32,457.60 and Reserve Account – £5,476.52

AUDIT

The Clerk confirmed that the Annual Governance Statement was now with the Auditors.
